Y'all. I haven't written a Yelp review in close to year but this place DESERVES it. My fiance and I popped in after visiting the Logan Street Market a few weeks ago. We had contemplated eating at Logan Street but it was just after they opened and it was packed. I found Six Forks on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. We're hooked. We went back last night for another meal and it was as good as the first.
The place is small and quirky and the owners are as friendly as can be. First of all, they have kool-aid in mason jars (and they are FREE on Tuesdays!) I hadn't had kool-aid since I was a kid and it was great! They also have free bottled water for all.
The food has been exceptional for a burger joint. I did a build your own burger the past couple of times and haven't been disappointed. The burgers are thin but juicy and piled high with cheese, toppings, on a fluffy bun. My partner had a polish sausage the first trip and it was delicious.
Louisville is known for our food scene. Don't count out smaller places that are a bit out of the city center. Drop-in for an amazing meal soon!

I drive by this place almost every day and decided to stop in for lunch. It was pretty easy to find a parking spot and there was even more parking right around the corner.
I looked at the menu and was a little overwhelmed at firs. I decided  to go basic and come back and try some more. I got a dressed cheeseburger, seasoned fries, and the Thai chili potato salad. I over ordered.
The burger had a nice crispy grill on the outside and was well-dressed. I issue with my entire experience was that the burger was basically less than a quarter pound for $7.
The fries were fine. They weren't very crispy, but I didn't try one of the toppings. I will go back and try some more fries.

The Thai chili potato salad was a mayonnaise mustard-based potato salad. Potatoes were a little overcooked, but the combination of the Thai chili sauce and the mustard potato salad was a hit in my opinion. I consider myself kind of a potato salad snob, and I will eat that again.

I struggled weather to make this a three or four star rating, but the overall experience was worth it even if the burger was a little small for the cost.

If you're in the market for a new place to try, check out Six Forks Burger Co. A friend who lives in the Shelby Park neighborhood recently recommended it, and after our visit, I would recommend you do the same!

Located on the corner of Preston and Ormsby, it's easy to access from I-64 as well as downtown. I found a spot to park on the street without any difficulty and quickly made my way inside to meet up withy friend there. In a restored old building, the ceilings are high, and the large windows let in please tu of natural light. We ordered at the counter before grabbing a table.

Before our food came, I visited the restroom, which was clean and well-stocked, but the best part of it was the sign on the door, which I captured in a photo.

Our food arrived quickly -- Lil Burger and Thai Chili Potato Salad for me, Lil Cheeseburger and fries for her -- and both hit the spot. The burger was cooked perfectly and the toppings were fresh and crisp, and the potato salad was just the right blend of sweet and spice. . . no of that dreaded mayonnaise type that most people associate with potato salad. I also got to try some of my friend's crinkle-cut fries and will probably order those next time!

For your next burger craving, hit the spot with Six Forks!

This place is fairly new to Shelby Park and is one of the best restaurants in this neighborhood serving culturally appropriate food, along with reasonable prices!

It's not a large space but a lot of people were coming in and out for lunch during the weekday (dining in our getting carry-out). They do have a good handful of tables though, but people don't stick around long.

You order at the counter and they'll give you your food at the table once it's ready.

I got a regular burger with two patties, tomato, lettuce, and maple bourbon sauce. I also added a side of green beans and chili cheese fries.

Everything was good! The side items are big portions! Enough to share! Had to take some home!

The burger was juicy! And perfectly cooked!

Kool-aid is free on Tuesdays which is when we came! They give a big 'ole jar that you can bring back for a discount on the kool-aid.

My friend got a regular cheese burger with cheddar and the seasoned fries. So much food! He couldn't finish either!

My sister got the adult only breakfast burger that had an egg on it. It also had bourbon chocolate on it. She had a side of twisted corn which was flavorful!

We also tried ice cream sandwiches with a bourbon drizzle. Yum!!

The menu offerings are interesting. It's nice that you can build your own burger as well.

They've got one gender neutral bathroom!

Parking is parallel around here but it's easy to find!

The owner came and talked to us which is always a plus! They are half-black owned, but y'all, that counts as black-owned to me!! They're doing a great job running this place and I hope it stays around.

So of all the random things in the area that sounded scrumptious we decided to go with Six as why not it's new has the word Six in it and yeah who doesn't want a yummy looking burger for lunch!

Coming here was pretty solid as after a night of driving you just want something awesome and I must say the best part of this was by far the burger as you could taste each element of it the nice surprise was the white American because I always find that it has a better taste than the Orange one but the best part of my burger was when the staff came over to my table and asked me what I wanted on it my answer was simple everything please they kinda didn't seem to understand so I started naming off goodies and yeah it was just about everything because that's always what I look for when it comes to a burger because more the better!

The cheese fries were alright it was basically just some fries in nacho cheese with some grated cheese on top to set it all right nothing crazy but they were still good for what they were.

The food was good the staff was nice the only real downfall I felt about coming here was that I feel it was a bit pricey for the area as I really wasn't expecting to pay as much as I did for a burger and cheese fries at a small little spot in the heart of Louisville and yes I know pricey things well being I'm from California.

Overall it was yummy if I lived in the neighborhood I'd come back again but not as much as I would if it were a bit more affordable for what your getting.
